Ponies happy in the sunshine going about their work…..finding fence posts to have a good scratch on, and even better if they can loosen them.

Hooray
I followed Ian's advice and can now write blogs. Thanks. We'll be checking them on Wednesday.
Thursday 25th May
All 3 ponies were close to the gate nearest the M3, 2 under the biog beech tree, and 1 having a drink.
I am not sure I have correctly identified them all, but (probably) Kat and Flam decided to investigate me in the nicest way - one on each side gently sniffing and huffing. All 3 seemed fine. Water still rather green. Plenty of whitethroats singing on Deacon Hill on this warm and sunny morning.Sunday, 21 May 2023

Thursday 11th May
A nice morning, despite the forecast of rain. All 3 were grazing (as you see) on the top path, and not far along from the main entrance, seemingly preferring the grass on the path to any of the tougher grass. They seemed alert and well, and only very briefly interested in my arrival. Water level in trough OK, but it is looking quite green.

Saturday 6th May
On the hill today were three soggy ponies, one bedraggled human and one rapidly disappearing Muntjac deer (just spotted it's rear end as it vanished into the hedge).
But of this menagerie, the ponies were looking really well with even Kat seeming in much better shape this week. They were all grazing very happily along the top path towards the far edge of the hill, with Doune particularly welcoming and friendly today.
Patches of wildflowers are developing, but ironically the best patches are just outside the main gate and on the verge of the M3, but I guess like most of us they just need a little sunshine! A few of the enclosed planted areas look to have been raided with the wire bent over, possibly by a curious pony (or an elusive muntjac).

Sunday 30th April
All three found happily grazing up at the top of the main path around 13:30 this afternoon.
