Thursday 27th Feb

Sunny and dry this morning, but still very muddy everywhere.

The ponies were helpfully close to the M'way gate, munching on hawthorn bushes just a little way down the hill, and seemingly happy.  They looked fine, and the nearby trough was full.  I am afraid that I didn't slog to the other trough (and back).

Wednesday 26th

4 ponies were near the top, backends towards the driving rain, somewhat sheltered by the Morestead Rd. fence. Looking well. Bottom trough full, didn't slither down to the top one.

Tuesday 25th February

Nice change to see the sunshine, but still very slippy and slidy underfoot. Found the ponies at the top end of the site, looking like they'd just woken up. Apart from Flam who was eating, late breakfast I presume. Hoopy looked particularly tired, but generally they all looked well, and were enjoying the sun on their backs for once.

Monday 24 February

The ponies were playing hide and seek. My dog was indicating where they were, but I couldn’t see them. The troughs were full. On the way back down they appeared in a flourish from behind the bushes between the track and the road. They seemed a bit skittish today. It must be the weather. No issues noted.

Sunday 23rd February

A dry but blustery day. Ponies looking well but fairly docile today.

Saturday, 22 February 2025

Saturday 22nd February

Despite the better weather heavy going getting through the mud, but managed to slip and slide my way to the top of the site, where I found all four girls, all looking a little miserable and bedraggled, and definitely in no mood for interactions! Other than that they all looked well and alert.

Thursday, 20 February 2025

Thursday 20th Feb

All 4 ponies were looking as gloomy as the weather, close to the 'far' (eastern) gate - almost lining up for the Brandenburg Gate.  They were quite damp, but looking fine, and both troughs were full.

Wednesday, 19 February 2025

Wednesday 19th

There were 3 of us looking for the ponies, up to the top, with Stephen in the middle, back down the steep slope and along the bottom path and middle section. Eventually spotted them in open ground not far from the trough. 4 ponies looking fine and both troughs full.

Tuesday 18th February

Retirement is playing havoc with knowing what day it is, so again, forgot to check on the ponies till late in the day. Tried to find them on the top path, but nowhere to be seen, so looks like they were heading to the bottom of the site. Apologies but I didn't find them today, due to my forgetfulness and losing of light. Sorry.

Monday, 17 February 2025

Monday 17 February

The ponies were at the top of the hill. No issues noted. The troughs were full.

Sunday, 16 February 2025

Sunday 16th Feb

A biting cold wind today helping to dry out the muddy track!

3 Ponies were up near the top end with the straggler 200yds further down by the fence.

Saturday 15th February

Cool and dull day on the Hill, slightly drizzly but otherwise okay. Found the ponies at the top of the site, Kat, Flam and Hoopy stood together looking very guilty about something, with Doune a little bit away keeping a close eye on her charges. Flam came over for a sniff and a bit of salt licking. They all looked well, no obvious issues.

Wednesday, 12 February 2025

Wednesday 12th

4 ponies were near the top gate. all looked well and not charging around. Both troughs were full.

Monday, 10 February 2025

Monday 10 February

The ponies met me about a third of the way up the hill.they followed me up to the top. The troughs were full. On my way down the very muddy site the ponies decided to have a mini cavalry charge, not once but twice. However they turned away just before they got to me.

Sunday, 9 February 2025

Sunday 9th February

All peaceful on the hill. Ponies up at the far end of muddy lane and looking well.

Saturday, 8 February 2025

Saturday 8th February

A bitter day for slipping and sliding along the main path in search of naughty ponies. But there they were, a little way along the top path beyond the Beech Clump. They were all excitedly munching away, and again very little interest in me. Kat stopped briefly to sniff my hand, but wasn't impressed, so continued eating. But they all looked well, albeit a little soggy, but still in good shape. I think I've worked out another way to spot Hoopy, she seems to have longer and thinner legs that the others, or it could be my imagination?

Blimey I've cut half of Kat's head off too...

Wednesday, 5 February 2025

Wednesday 5th

4 ponies were near the Morstead Rd. fence near the clump. They all looked fine, bottom trough full. Top one was a bit down, I couldn't see how much is in the 'beehive' tank.

Tuesday, 4 February 2025

Tuesday 4th February

Mild but dreary day on the Hill, and there were the ponies a short distance up the main path. They all looked well and were happily munching away, I guess the mild weather is producing some lovely sweet grass!

Doune keeping a close eye on me!

Monday, 3 February 2025

Monday 3 February

The 4 ponies were at the top of the site. No issues seen. The troughs were both full.

Sunday 2nd February

Beautiful blue sky and nice to feel some warmth from the sun. The ponies were all up at the very far end of the muddy main track and were looking in great condition although the splendour of their winter coats somewhat diminished by the results of some enthusiastic mud rolling.

Saturday, 1 February 2025

Saturday 1st February

The ponies were at the top of the site, exploring the recently opened up sections of scrub. They seemed to be having a great time and all looked pretty well. Hoopy looks a little shaggy, but also warm.
