Saturday 15th July

Bit blustery on the hill, but it's looking beautiful and with the long grass swaying in the wind it's mesmerising. The ponies were elusive today and not relaxing by the corral as usual. Walked/hobbled along the upper path but no joy so then tried up by the boundary fence. Signs of them but not at that precise moment. Then took the lower path and spotted Kat halfway up the hill. They were happily munching away, far too busy to stop and say Hello, so watched them for a while before leaving. They looked well, were moving well, and although there were a fair few flies around them they didn't seem to be too bothered.

Still lots of butterflies and disturbed a hawk on the upper path. I think it was then bothering the crows. Also a couple of the fence posts in the fenced off zones were damaged (pushed over/snapped). Patched things up as best I could but looks like further maintenance will be needed.
