Saturday 2nd December

Bitterly cold on the Hill today, but also beautiful in a winter wonderland kind of way. Noticed the ice on the west trough had been broken, so guessed someone had been around.

No sign of the ponies though, so wandered up to east trough, ice was about an inch so broke it up and removed a few of the larger chunks. Also much colder and wintery on top of the hill. Trekked back along the path by the road and still no sign, then along the lower path, and still nothing. In fact it was easier to find the muntjac who hadn't smelt me in the still air. Then as I was wandering back along the middle path, saw Flam staring at me from halfway up the eastern slope. From a distance it was if she was smirking😀, just as I was starting to lose the will to live, cold, tired, feeling poorly.

Not far behind was Doune, slip sliding down the slope, with Kat even further up near the top of the hill. Looks like they're continuing to explore, which is great, but part of me misses the days they would hang around the corral.

They looked really well though, coats thickened up beautifully.

p.s. happy to cover any uncovered slots during the inclement weather?
