Tuesday 30th January

A bit of a dull and listless day, which was reflected by the ponies. They were toward the eastern end towards the road, well Flam was munching away merrily on the main path (with a kestrel and buzzard hunting in the air above her), whilst the others were by the road just staring blankly into the distance (sounds like me at work!). They were attentive and alert as I approached though. 

Kat has a lot of matted hair around her hind quarters, so not sure if that's rolling around or fighting? She's also looking a lot smaller than Doune, even more so today, but maybe it's just in my head. See photo to compare. No other obvious issues apart from of the listlessness. 

Two of the cows were by the trough, the larger white one having a great neck scratch on the trough edge. It looked very satisfying indeed. They were eating happily and their impact is evident already, especially around the trough area. The other one was in the ditch but again seemed to be grazing contentedly.
