The ponies were found at the corral keeping themselves out of the drizzle . The troughs were checked. On my way back down the ponies emerged and were grazing oblivious to the rain. All good.

Saturday 28th September
Slight panic this morning as found Flam on her own near the corral looking a little quiet and not her usual buoyant self. The others were nowhere to be seen. As this is a really rare occurrence was starting to worry when I couldn't immediately find them, but in the end, they were just around the bend on the lower path. Huge sighs of relief. Doune's eyes still a bit watery, as was Kat's. Flam seemed okay though, although her winter coat is starting to grow out lovely.

Thursday 26th Sept
Showery morning after a wet night, but sunny intervals and a rumble of thunder thrown in - the ponies were about 100m from the trough, along the 'middle' path, and grazing, unfazed by the wet weather and looking well.
The western trough was, needless to say after all the rain, full.

Wednesday 25th
Set off searching for the ponies, Stephen up the main path me to the trough and towards their normal area. In fact they were down from the trough heading towards the corral. All looked well, some nibbling bark from the fallen branch. Burrs in their manes. Trough was full.

Tuesday 24th September
It seems ages since I've seen the girls, and there they were waiting for me to arrive. Well maybe not, but they were by the corral, mostly stripping the bark from a fallen branch. Their eyes look much better, which I can't say about their manes and tails. They're full of briars, so much so that Flam's hair is almost rigid, it's going to take quite an operation to clear them all. Flam was scratching her backside against the fence, and other than it being a bit dusty, couldn't see anything, but might be worth a proper look when there are more than one persons around (I doubt she'd be happy me grabbing and lifting her tail out of the way).

Sunday 22 September
A bit of a wet weather day today. The ponies were checking out the results of Tom’s work party with Flam showing particularly interest in a bag!

Thursday 19th September
Breezy and quite overcast at first, but the cloud gave way to blue skies by midday. All 3 ponies were conveniently about 100m along the top path, snacking rather than seriously grazing, and they came to check me out before returning to their snacks. They all looked to be in good form. Trough near main gate OK - didn't check the other one.

Wednesday 18th
2 ponies were along from the trough. After a bit of a hunt, Flam/Kat was up by the path, I thought she might have got tangled in brambles but she was scratching her bottom vigorously against a bush. Apart from that all seemed well and the trough was full.

Sunday 15th September
A lovely Autumn day!! Warm in the sunshine but chilly in shade. Ponies huddled in corral. Eyes looking a lot better, all have got a little ‘burred up’…as opposed to beered up. Flam very patiently let me untangle her foreheads and mane but the other two were happy to continue with their style enhancements.

Saturday 14th September
Apologies for the lateness of this post, but lovely early evening on the Hill. As luck would have it the ponies were a little way along the main track, well Flam and Doune were. They were munching away like little Pacmen, but was a little worried that Kat was missing. Needn't have worried, she was up by the new fence, so actually only a couple of metres away. They were all looking great in the low sun, although looks like Doune had been rolling in the dirt, probably trying to get rid of the citronella smell 😆.
Fri 13th - fly cream!

Thursday 12th September
A chilly morning, but sunny. The Deacon Hill 3 were about 150 m along the top path, but down the hill and annoyingly invisible from the path, and so it took me a while to find them. I heard one of them blowing before I saw them. They were grazing and not to be distracted. All 3 seemed very alert and well. Both troughs were also fine.

Monday 9 September
The ponies were a third of the way up the hill and seemed well. The troughs were full.

Sunday 8th Sep
Ponies enjoying early morning sunshine and fresh wet grass. There is still some discharge around 2 of the ponies’ eyes but appears improved since Ian’s visit.

Saturday 7th September
Muggy on the Hill, and found the ponies halfway up the hill not far from the corral, eating and moving. They all looked really well, and didn't want to stop eating.
On closer inspection though, noticed that Doune had tear tracks on her muzzle from her eyes. Her eyes looked clear, perhaps her whites were a little red, and they didn't look particularly gunky or discharging. But please, could the next person double check my observations?

Thursday 5th September
The ponies seemed unfazed by the steady rain. They were not easy to find, but were 30m or so
down the hill from the little beech copse, part way along the top track. They seemed pleased to see me and intrigued by my wellies. Despite looking bedraggled, they were fine, and both troughs were full.

Tuesday 3rd September
Another muggy and sticky day on the Hill, with the ponies needing a bit of tracking down. After a pleasant stroll found them on the lower path just down from the corral. They were looking well still, Flam's mane was full of buds and she also looks like she's been rolling in the dust. They do know how to have a good time.

Monday 2 September
A foggy and muggy day which did not stop the army on the range. The ponies were half way up the hill on the path and as usual just lifted their heads to acknowledge me. The troughs were full.
